A Nightingale in the Garden

FLAUGISSIMO present a unique programme of music inspired by gardens. ¬†Francois Couperin’s ‘Rossignol en amour’ and William Hill’s ‘Bird Fancier’s Delight’ complement ‘flower’ pieces by Scottish composer James Oswald, transcriptions of Hindustani melodies by Irish musician William Hamilton Bird, and a new work written especially for FLAUGISSIMO by festival director Rachel Stott based on a poem by Li Shang-Yin.
