A Nightingale in the Garden
FLAUGISSIMO present a unique programme of music inspired by gardens. Francois Couperin’s ‘Rossignol en amour’ and William Hill’s ‘Bird Fancier’s Delight’ complement ‘flower’ pieces by Scottish composer James Oswald, transcriptions of Hindustani melodies by Irish musician William Hamilton Bird, and a new work written especially for FLAUGISSIMO by festival director Rachel Stott based on a poem by Li Shang-Yin.
Yu-Wei Hu (baroque flute), Johan Lofving (theorbo).
